Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour involving women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
