A woman indicted with harassing Kate McCann allegedly left her a phone message which asked: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, 24, who witnesses stated has persistently declared she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and information obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized child disappearance cases and remains unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One voicemail, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The tribunal was advised that by means of emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with law enforcement who collated the information, told the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my claim."

The court learned the co-defendant established a connection online with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had communicated via messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the period before the trip to that location, the county, in December 2024.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their home, the defendant dispatched a communication which said: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark similar to investigators. I wanted to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."
